"Hi there!!! My name is Dempsey and I'm really excited to meet you! When I was a puppy I was adopted from a pet store, but unfortunately I wasn't able to be given enough time and training, so the family thought it was best that I find a home where I would get what I deserve. It's honestly not that they didn't love me, because they did love me very much -- they just believe I deserve more attention and love. I have lived with children and I do wonderful with them. They are my best friends and are so much fun to play with! I am actually very submissive in personality, but I can be bossy once in awhile but that's just the terrier in me and if you tell me "no", I'm very quick to look to you to see what I can do to make you happy. I'm very good with all the dogs that I have met -- I've met little ones, big ones, and ones in between! I love to play, but sometimes I'm too playful for some dogs. I might almost be a year old, but I'm still so much puppy in personality! I've been working really hard on being potty trained too -- you see I am very good when you watch me close and I'm out, but if you don't keep a close watch, I do have accidents. I always know that I did wrong right away, but I just forget sometimes...but I am trying to learn really hard, I promise! I do keep my kennel clean overnight now and love all the attention and treats I get when I go potty outside, so I'm going to get this housebreaking thing down pat! I do get along okay with cats, but sometimes it's more fun to chase them! Although, if the cats do not run or if they act mean...well, then I'll runaway, but don't tell anyone! I like to act big and tough, even though I'm a huge softie underneath it all. I'm very smart and I know my basic manners -- I don't try and do anything bad ... I never dig but sometimes I think it's fun to play in mud puddles after it's rained! I don't see why people are so picky when I'm just having fun...but anyways, I never bark excessively or nip or anything bad. I've also been working on trying to learn more commands -- I already know how to 'Come' and I do know my name 'Dempsey' and I also know what 'No' is. I've been trying to learn 'Sit' and 'down' and 'wait', but it takes a bit. I try hard, but sometimes I'm a bit stubborn too, but I do everything eventually. All I need is a family that is willing to give me a chance with lots of time and patience to teach me all these great new things...would you like to take a chance on me?"
Dempsey came from a private home where his family was unable to keep him and wanted him to find a perfect, loving forever home.
Depmsey is up to date on all his shots (including Rabies), neutered, and is working on housetraining. He needs a lot of practice but he is starting to catch on.
Dempsey is a Cairn Terrier (purebred but no papers) and he was born October 25, 2008 so he is almost 1 year old now.
