My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winnie came into our rescue about 5 years ago when we received a call about a dog having issues giving brith. When we got to where Winnie was it was obvious she was in major trouble, she was rushed to the vet where she wasn't expected to survive. The vet thought Winnie had been in labor for about 3 days but the first puppy was stuck and had died. Needless to say Winnie had a raging infection and the surgery itself was risky. But Winnie pulled through the surgery like the trooper she is. Winnie has probably never been around people until we rescued her so she is slow to trust strangers but once she does she is a super sweet girl. It took her 6 months to learn to trust her foster mom. Winnie loves to play fetch and play with the other dogs in her foster home. Winnie would do best in a home with at least one other dog and older kids. Winnie will need time to adjust to her new home and new environment. She is spayed, up to date on shots, housebroken, and crate trained.Winnie has a limp in her back left hip. The vet thinks she was possibly hit by a car before we rescued her. Surgery was not an option, the injury was too old and even with surgery she would still walk with a limp. But it does not slow her down.
