My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby is a special dog looking for a special home. This puppy was found running scared, alone on the streets of Immokalee. It was clear that Toby had very little (if any) positive interactions with people in his young life. He has spent the last 5-6 months in foster care receiving treatment for heart-worm, basic obedience training, and socialization. He is now house-broken, crate-trained, leash-trained and both dog and cat friendly. Toby is still fearful meeting new people and must be in a home with at least one other friendly dog. Toby gravitates towards and find comforts in other dogs and will learn to trust new people through their dogs. He is a special needs dog in that he is still quite fearful of new people and new settings. Interested adopters must be open to fostering-to-adopt Toby, which will allow both Toby and the interested adopter time with each other before making an adoption decision.
