My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Harley and I’m a big, beautiful, 8 yr. old girl. Not much is known about me before coming into IEBR, I was dropped off at a shelter with eye and ear infections as well as a UTI. The good news is all of that is cleared up and the doctor says that I’m in good shape – well except for a few pounds (ok, maybe 10) I need to lose.
I LOVE PEOPLE! I love being around them, I love attention, I love soft beds and I love toys and bones to chew on! I have very good manners, I sit, stay, walk on the leash and am completely housetrained. No accidents here!

There’s a cat in my foster home and at first I wanted to chase it, but my foster parents told me no. Now the cat comes up to me and rubs all over my face – it’s annoying but I never bark or try to get it. I also have a foster dog sister and so far we get along pretty well. We go outside and lay in the sun together and go on walks together. We still get separated when we have bones to chew on or toys to play with because we’re still getting to know each other.

I’m crate trained and go to it on my own at night and for naps. I don’t have any signs of food aggression – I wait my turn for treats and patiently wait for my foster sister to finish eating before I check and see if she left anything in her bowl. I don’t bark at the door and when someone comes in, I’m very polite. I love, love, love bananas and apples as treats.

I can be a little silly when it comes time to play, I throw my toys up in the air and try to catch them - it’s kind of funny to watch. I’m 8 so my bursts of silliness are short and then I need a nap. I’d love a home where there are plenty of comfortable spots to nap, lots of treats and people to spoil me.
