My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who needs a cuddle buddy for those cold winter nights! Charlie is the perfect couch cuddler.

Charlie lived on a chain in Qatar the first few years of his life, his family couldn’t even bother to get him a proper collar. When his family moved out of the country, they abandoned him. Luckily the neighbors saw and contacted BarkinQ, who sent Charlie to Minnesota. Charlie loves Minnesota, lots of fun smells (like lasagna!) and dog friendly stores, oh and snow! He walks incredibly well for his foster mama on a leash, he just loves to be right next to his humans.

Charlie loves food a lot! In his old life, he would gobble it down so other dogs can’t steal it. We hope to find a family that understands that they will have to watch Charlie’s weight and keep him active so he lives a healthy life. Charlie's corneas are permanently damaged, he was probably caught in a sandstorm, and his vision is not perfect. He isn't blind though, he just takes a little longer to figure out what's going on. He is kennel trained and housebroken.

He’s still learning how to play with other dogs, he sometimes makes mistakes. Because of his vision and his laid-back persona, he would be quite content to be an only dog or have only one other big dog in the household. Having a bunch of dogs is just too much for poor Charlie. He has also lived with cats and kids, but as Charlie is still learning how to be a dog, any other animals should be dog-savvy.

Charlie takes a solid week to adapt to a new household. We ask that any potential adopters be willing to stick it out for that week as he gets very distressed when he thinks humans have abandoned him. It's worth it! Once he knows that he is home, his family will be blessed with a gentle, loving boy.
