Several weeks ago, one of our volunteers came across a sign: “FREE PUPPY’S {address} COME PICK ONE OUT”

Since we all well aware that spells disaster in a multitude of ways, we sprang into action. By the time they arrived, only one little girl was left. Her parents were on site - they’re a genetic experimentation creating pug/pit mixes and they’re over the top adorable. We offered to fix them both, of course to stop this nasty cycle of backyard breeding.

The result of our efforts is VELVET. Velvet is mouth-wateringly cute, extremely loving, learning house manners really quickly, and was worth the late evening mountain moving to save. She loves being outside, laying snuggled in blankies, and hates being alone.

In her forever home, she will need a doggy playmate for sure. She’s very tiny so a house with young children won’t work for safety reasons.

Velvet will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is only $350! As with all puppies adopted through Maxx & Me, his adopter will need to commit to taking her to positive reinforcement puppy classes with a trainer of their choice.
