My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fluff is a young (about 2 years old) spaniel mix dog. She’s small, maybe 30 lbs. She’s been with us for a couple of months and we believe that, after getting to know her, she’d make a great companion for someone. She was fearful when she first came to us and her body language was difficult to read, almost as if she didn’t know how to behave like a dog. She can be fearful with strangers when she’s in her kennel. However, while on a leash walk, she’s perfectly friendly or indifferent to strangers. She is, however, dog aggressive and we wouldn’t trust her with cats or other small animals. Her previous owners housed her outside because she was aggressive towards their other dog. She craves attention from people. Her previous owners stated that she was fine with kids (teenagers) and I think that would be ok for her but small children may be too much. Her previous owner said that Fluff is not housetrained, but she lived outside so we’re not sure if this is accurate. She does enjoy tearing up soft toys and softer rubber toys but she has never chewed her bedding. She likes chewing on appropriate chew toys too. She walks pretty well on leash and has a really good recall. She had escaped her yard so she would need a fence (5’ minimum) or secure confinement. But we believe that if she’s not left alone in the yard, she won’t try to escape. She seems to know ‘sit’ but otherwise has little training.

Fluff will be a great dog for someone who has patience and a quiet home. If you’d like to meet her, please call to set up an appointment.

We try to keep our list of available animals up to date, but some may be placed in adoption or adopted out faster than we can get them updated online.  We recommend stopping by the Shelter to see who is currently available whenever you’re in the area.

If you'd like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510.  This is especially important if you are viewing this animal on any site other than Animal Services' website.  We will need the animal's number (we have it listed as the name) in order to look up the animal.

“Adoption Pending” means someone is in the process of adopting this pet, but has not yet completed the requirements.  Please check back later to see if the animal is available, as we cannot accept reserve applications.
