My story

Meet Simba! Simba was bought by someone at 6 weeks old perfectly healthy with all his fur. 6 weeks later he was seconds away from being euthanized. Had the vet been able to obtain IV access, he would be dead today. Thank God he had no veins and his owner couldn’t afford any other method to euthanize.

This didn’t happen overnight. Humans watched as he deteriorated into nothing more than a walking skeleton. By the time he was taken to a vet, he was in so much pain he couldn’t stand up on his own. His body temperature was very low, he was dehydrated, severely underweight, his skin was and is infected, both eyes infected and blood dripping from his urethra. We couldn’t leave him behind to die. He never even got a chance to know what real love means   

Simba barely escaped death but now he has a second chance at life. He is being treated for all his infections, is getting medicated baths and slowly on his way to recovering. It has been a few weeks since Simba has been in our care and he is thriving! his skin looks a lot better and he is getting healthier by the day. He does great with the resident dogs, cats and kid in his foster home as well. Despite a rough start, Simba has endless love to give.
