My story

PERSONALITY:
Remi has yet to meet a person he does not like! He is a total love bug and does not stop purring! He is super sweet with cats and our large cat-friendly dog as well! He loves to give head butts and get pet. He will also sleep either right next to you in bed or he will lay by your head on or beside your pillow! He is a total cuddle bug and would be a great family pet or even a loving companion for a single person! He gets bursts of energy where he loves to play but other than that he likes taking naps and lounging around the house all day.

ABOUT HIM:
Remington is 9 years old and he is a big boy at about 18 pounds. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He recently had a senior blood panel done at the vet and his results were great!

Remi was a diabetic cat. He was going to be euthanized because his owner no longer wanted to take care of his special needs and did not think anyone else would “want” him either. She had him since he was a young kitten but because of a combination of genetics and diet he developed diabetes by 8 years old. My friend and i drove an hour to rescue him the day before his appointment to be put to sleep.

He was on insulin and a low carb wet food diet for a year but because of his new, strict lifestyle he has now been in diabetic remission! He has been on a biologically appropriate raw food diet since July 2020 and he has been THRIVING! Cats are obligate carnivores and their bodies are not made to process tons of grains, corn, and carbs- things that are packed into dry cat food. It is important that he stays on a raw food diet (which i get shipped to my house, already packed and ready to thaw the day before he eats it- it is so easy to prepare and i dont even have to touch the meat!) and i can answer any questions you have about it! It’s important that he says on this low carb raw food diet so that he remains in remission! It is so easy to prepare his food. I would suggest a yearly vet visit, as i would with all older cats, just to continue to make sure he is remaining healthy!

If you’d like to do a trial run to see if he would be a good fit with your family we can discuss this and i would supply everything he needs.
