Age - adult

Weight - 50-ish

Other dogs – Is well-behaved out and about with other dogs but would prefer to be your one and only.

Cats - He is OK with cats but would need to monitored and introduced with slow introductions.  No aggression, just interested.

Kids - OK out and about with children but would prefer an adult only home.

Background - Stray from Compton. Picked up by the police and brought to the shelter.

Crate trained –  Is crate-trained however would prefer to be in a home with someone who works from home so he hang out with you all day

Leash trained –   great on leash

Housebroken -  Uses the doggy door, will also go to the back door and wait.

Eating Habits -  Great eater

Commands known -  Sit

Car rides -  Fine in the car.

Bath time -  Does fine.

Affectionate -  Affectionate and likes to be around his people.

Activity level -  Low, he's a couch potato

Play style -  No real play style, more of a lounger.

Medical –  He has had surgery to correct his ACL and is like a whole new dog!

Bad habits -  Snoring definitely! He CANNOT HAVE squeaky toys or squeaky balls as he will guard them.

Redeeming qualities -  Happy to see you always, gives you a happy dance when it’s time to eat. Loves to hang out with his people.

Best feature -  His calm loving demeanor. You can just see it in his eyes how much he loves you and how he wants to be the bestest boy!  He has a fantastic personality.

What Foster Mom/Dad wants you to know -

"Beefy is such a mellow, easy dog. His favorite things are hanging out with his people, eating, hanging out with his people, sleeping, hanging out with his people, going for short walks and hanging out with his people. Have we mentioned how much he loves hanging out with his people?! Beefy promises to be your bestest friend and to love you unconditionally. He'll be sure to keep you laughing, especially when he climbs into the kiddie pool!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential families are asked to complete or Adoption Application before visiting our dogs. We introduce you and your family including any other dogs/cats in your family to our adoptable dogs. If the meeting is a good match we will schedule a home check to ensure that the home is a good match for the pet that you have selected. You will then be asked to complete our Adoption Agreement and to finalize the adoption there will be a processing fee to adopt a pet from us. All proceeds go directly back to help support our rescue and there are no paid employees so all fees are used for our pets waiting to be adopted.

More about this rescue

We are located in the San Diego area and pull dogs from southern California shelters and we assist families in rehoming their pets so that they don't have to go to a shelter.

I started doing rescue because I couldn't stand to see adoptable dogs being euthanized due to lack of an immediate home. I knew that I could find them good homes.
