My story

Diamond, DSH, spayed B&W tuxedo, female. Vaccines current. Estimated DOB 5/7/18.

PFC is now charging an adoption fee. 75.00 for a female and 50 for a male. However, our kitties who were vetted before this change are still adoption fee free.

Diamond is a beautiful sweet loving girl. She was rescued from a life on the streets after having 5 litters of kittens in her young life and she adores being an indoor only kitty. She has learned what it is to play and she loves playing on her own with fluffy toys or playing with her daughter, Smudgie. She would love to be adopted with Smudgie if you have room for two cats in your home and your heart, but would also do fine as an only cat I think.

She tolerates our large dog fine and our other cats as well. She has a rather dominate personality and has politely (no real fighting) climbed up the feline pecking order to the #2 position out of 5 cats.

She doesn’t like being picked up but happily gets up on you whenever you sit or lie down. She loves to rub on her humans (especially when you are trying to feed her or walk anywhere!) and get scritches. Her purr is amazing!

She is a shy person and runs and hides when anyone new comes to visit, so her adopters need to be patient with her and give her time to adjust.

She is with Stephanie in Conover (so is Smudgie). Call Stephanie at 828-994-1100 with any questions concerning Diamond. Fill out an adoption application (fill in form if opened in Adobe reader) from http://www.partnersforcats.org/adopt-your-bff.html and email it to skarasmoore@gmail.com.

Why adoption is a great option

Diamond, a Morganton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Morganton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Morganton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Morganton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Morganton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Morganton paves the way for another one to be saved.
