My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meatball and Potato are looking for a loving forever home together after all they have been through in their lives. A rescue brought them to New York from the South when they were just 8 weeks old. They were adopted out and later returned to the rescue. We aren't sure why they were returned but were told it may have been because their owner went in to an assisted living facility or had passed away. When they returned to the rescue they were very skinny and fearful and were placed into a foster home. The foster loved them but after almost a year in foster care, they still didn't find a home so she asked us to take them in to our program.

Meatball and Potato came to us in January of 2021 and are still a bit timid in new environments but their foster mom said they have some such a long way from when she first met them. They are approximately four years old and are both spayed/neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vaccines. Meatball is about 15 lbs and we think she is a jack Russell/dachshund mix and Potato is about 30 lbs (in need of a diet) and we think he is a jack Russell/beagle mix.

Meatball and Potato lived with cats, dogs, and were around kids in their foster home. They are housebroken to go potty outside or on wee wee pads as well. They love going for walks, but it is very important that they be on secure walking gear as Potato has run away from the foster multiple times and is a bit of a flight risk.

They are such sweet pups and love to play and cuddle. Meatball gives the sweetest, most gentle kisses and Potato will give hugs and use him paw to demand you give him more and more and more love! They are incredibly bonded to each other and must be kept together.
