My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog name and description:

Oakley is a young neutered male. DOB 2-4-20. He is still considered a puppy . Rides well in the car. walks well on a leash. Affectionate and loves people. He takes his treats gently. Okay with cats and big dogs. Not good with little dogs. He would love to be your only dog and get all the loving. He loves being outside.

Came in with a bad habit of food aggression of his dish and if he stole something. We are no longer seeing that. He is young and can learn. We will NOT place him in a home with kids because of the previous issue of food aggression..

He has learned to be crate trained but would prefer not to be.
Behaved well at the vet with strangers in masks. He will need a Pyr experienced adopters. As you know this is NOT a white golden retriever in temperament. With age he will be a great dog but can be a teenage brat for now. He needs someone who will be firm with him but not dominating. If he has something he is not supposed to have you do not grab it away. You tell him it is "Mine" or to "Leave it" and he will walk away.

HE IS NOT A WORKING DOG AND WILL NOT BE PLACED AS SUCH.

The application process is to go to our website and fill out an adoption application form. http://www.nepyresq.org/page/adoption-process-47.html. The dogs are in Foster Home across the Northeast.

The adoption fee is $400 due to cost of medical needs of our dogs. $450 for Dogs 12 months and under. You will receive a copy of their medical records when you adopt.

If you have never had a Pyr Puppy you need to read this : http://www.nepyresq.org/page/i-want-a-great-pyrenees-puppy-50.html.

We do not accept INVISIBLE fencing for the following reasons:
1) Most Pyrs ignore the pain and go through it.
2) This is a guardian breed and this fencing does not keep people or other animals out of your yard. The Pyr could take them as a threat or be attacked by them.

Most of these dogs are not a dog park breed. They bark a lot and can bother your neighbors.
