Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My wife and I were given Otis 3 years ago by a family friend. He was left at an apartment and was hiding under the cupboards and wouldn't come out until my wife coaxed him. Brought home, he would constantly hide in the cupboards and would barely eat. I would coax him from his hiding place and hold him, which always comforted him, but he still needed his time alone.
After a few weeks, we started to see more of him around the house - he would jump up on a dresser or other place where he could meet you eye-to-eye, and rub against your hand. He likes to pace back and forth and push his head into your hand, giving you a little bath as he goes.
Unfortunately he's not very good with cats that try to play with him; however, he will tolerate those that come by and just hang out. But he loves humans - he will sit on your lap, purr, and be your buddy, for HOURS, just chilling.
I love this cat very much and if it wasn't for my rental situation I'd keep him.
