My story

Oh-oh-oh, get in the action,
Feel the attraction!

Beautiful Shania Twain will surely grab your attention with her elegant look and unique eye patch. Shania is a 14 month old Cattle Dog, Pointer Mix. Shania Twain is house trained and crate trained, though her preference would be to stay and sleep in a contained safe area of the house while her person is away. Most nights, after a short visit with her human on the bed, she sleeps in her cozy crate with the door open.

Shania is a super smart girl and has a good foundation of the skills sit, down, stay, place, come, leave it, shake, by me, and release. Though she still thinks it's all just fun and games for which she will get a tasty treat. Shania is so smart, she has a talent for conning her human to get on their feet just so she can steal their seat!

While she is confident at home, she can still be scared in new situations and with new people. She prefers to make your acquaintance on her terms. In no time, she is ready for pets and play. Shania hasn’t had many interactions with children, but her foster ma thinks very young children unstable on their feet or over hyper may scare her.  Though, she has spent time with older children and they loved her energy and playfulness.

Shania gets super excited to go on a walk, car ride, or play. Sometimes she is so excited to play with another doggie that her initial charge can scare the littles. But she has also demonstrated that she can learn her boundaries with dogs that are not interested in playing. She loves to play catch and fetch with her human friends and she is quite a good catch.

She is still improving her leash manners but does well with the help of a prong collar while she learns. If nervous, she may walk more quickly back to the safety of the car or house. She is small but mighty and strong. Even so, she does not pull with intention unless she is frightened or in a hurry to leave the vet office.

Shania’s perfect family should be an active family, who loves to take walks or hikes, maybe even a runner. She would love someone who will spend time playing catch and fetch with her, perhaps teach her to catch a frisbee. Shania would love a doggie playmate. Having dog experience is always helpful, though her foster mom has taught her many skills without expert assistance. Shania will need someone who will be patient with her initial anxiety and continue her training. Shania is an awesome puppy with a big personality. The eye patch that surrounds her eye enhances her adorable facial expressions and it’s hilarious. She will have you laughing with what her foster mom likes to call her Shania Shenanigans. Shania and her foster mama, who loves her dearly, just know her perfect family is out there somewhere. Is it you?
