My story

Hey there! My name is Bronson and sadly, I have been with MVPC the longest. Makes no sense, as I am truly a lovable, big guy and have become a foster favorite. I am just a handsome guy looking for a forever couch, er...I mean family. I have enough energy to keep up with the young pups in my foster home, but can nap with the best of them. I have impeccable house manners and walk perfectly on a leash. I have moved to different foster homes during my tenure here and have loved all of the dogs I have met. While my favorite activity is napping, I am always up for adventure!

I have a little bit of social anxiety in public, and love to bark to hear myself bark. I'm not barking AT anyone or anything...literally just barking. My deep bark can echo, so I consider it my singing voice.

I am a perfect boy at home, so if you are good to stay home and love big dogs, I am totally your guy.

ADOPTION FEE: $200 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained)

A $100 hold fee is required for approved applications and will be applied to the full adoption fee at the time of the home visit.
ADOPTER: Dog experience
BIRTHDAY: Estimated 3-4 years
FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment)
DOGS IN HOME: Yes, can be solo
CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over simply because I am big and strong.

INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25.

DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response.

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!

Why adoption is a great option

Bronson, a Dayton American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Dayton, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Dayton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dayton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dayton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dayton paves the way for another one to be saved.
