I'm Dodger (HWTH#20275A)! I am a German Shepherd, born on 11/14/14 and I weigh 60 lbs. I arrived at Halfway to Home after I was found by a Good Samaritan as a stray dragging a leash near the aqueduct in Lake Los Angeles. My owner never claimed me so now I am looking for a forever family! I am truly "man's best friend" as I seem to be drawn to men in particular, however I am friendly with all the adults I have met. I am not sure if I get along with kids or other dogs. I love balls and other squeaky toys. I am a strong and high-energy boy, therefore obedience training is essential to ensure I learn how to walk on a leash without pulling and what is acceptable behavior. Apartments, condos, or mobile homes would not be suitable for me because I need a large fenced yard to exercise and play. I need at least 2 long walks a day, and I would love to be a jogging or hiking partner. When we aren't participating in outdoor activities, I want to be an indoor dog and treated as a member of your family. If you like what you have read and you would like more information or an appointment to meet me, please call Sandy at tele#661-824-4495 (this is a landline). Thank you!

Our adoption procedure includes an application to make sure the dog and the people will be a good match, an adoption fee to cover the cost for shots, spaying or neutering, and a home check. Halfway to Home dogs are adopted out to be part of the family, and many of them are housetrained, if not, we ask that you are willing to undertake that task. Our dogs are intended to be indoor/outdoor family members. Doggie doors are a plus.

More about this rescue
Halfway To Home was formed in 2001 due to the need in the Antelope Valley to rescue the many homeless, helpless pets. We have animals from individuals who have to give up pets, and from animal shelters that have darling individuals who need to be spared euthanasia. There are puppies coming from individuals who did not spay and neuter in a timely manner. Your tax deductible donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 512 Rosamond, CA 93560 or you can visit us on our web site at www.halfwaytohome.net and make a donation through PayPal.
