My story

Rosie was a shy girl when she first came to the shelter but she has blossomed into a social butterfly. She knows she is safe and is always ready for love and playtime! Rosie is good with other dogs especially males. We do not know what she thinks of cats. She likes to play with toys and knows how to do a sit. Due to her playful energy, a home without young/small sized children is preferred. Rosie is about 3 years old and 55 pounds.

We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821).

Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes.

If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event.

Why adoption is a great option

Rosie, a Sparta Redbone Coonhound/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound/Labrador Retriever for sale in Sparta, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Sparta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sparta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sparta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sparta paves the way for another one to be saved.
