Hello my name is Rusty and I am currently in boarding in Salisbury NC. I was adopted and brought back to rescue when the family atmosphere became different. When yelled at by the male in the home or when he raised his voice to the other members in the home I was protective of the children and mom and the male brought me back to rescue. Mom and my human siblings was so upset and so was I. I still think about them often and I was very sad when I lost my home. I need a home where there is not an atmosphere like this so I don’t feel the need to protect my family. I am a cattle dog mix and I tend to protect my pack and herd. I am not mean at all but I do need a home without other dogs unless you have a submissive female. Alpha males will not work. My dream home would be a farm or somewhere that I would have a job to do. I’m very smart and loyal and have been completely vetted and ready for a new home. I am such a good boy and love to play with my toys and play outdoors. I am 5 years old and 60 pounds of pure love. I am always smiling and like to run up and down the fence at boarding with the other dogs. We race to see who can get to the end the fastest. I'm usually not first but that's okay. I love attention and want someone to choose me so I can go to a real home. I have been at boarding for awhile now and I see so many dogs come and go but I'm still here. Even if you can't adopt me, I can go to a foster home if you will keep me until someone wants to adopt me. My rescue will also do a 2 week foster to adopt program with me as well. I hope you come to meet me soon!
