*Special Needs* - Deacon is 3 years old - Cattle dog mix - extremely intelligent and sturdy with a strong sense of adventure and an invincible mindset. He’s 45 lbs, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Deacon was hit by a car in Jan of 2020 & suffered 2 broken legs. He was taken to the shelter where he was going to be PTS. ERF rescue decided to give him a second chance. He underwent 3 complicated surgeries. He walks well on his legs now but will need to kept from jumping on furniture or using a lot of stairs.

He gets many gentle daily walks. He is happy to chill in a crate or at your side. He is young and has learned many commands, this guy will flourish with an EXPERIENCED cattle dog owner who can give him structure. He has mostly been on a leash for now-as he’s very energetic & could Re-injure himself but can be taken off leash for playtime in a secure area. As he matures and becomes stronger, the vet feels he can spend more time off leash . Deacon is dog friendly if properly introduced & monitored. He has been around cats & has been ok with them. We would NOT suggest he be around small animals such as rabbits, chickens, etc. as he has a high prey drive.
