My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Angus is a young boy full of vim and vigor. “Peppy” should be his middle name! He is one seriously handsome fellow who has a seriously sweet side to him. Angus loves people and is very friendly and outgoing. He is sleek as a seal and equally as playful.

Angus is still learning about the world and catching up on some things. To be successful in a pet home, Angus needs to polish his manners, so we are working on some basic obedience, good citizen and social skills with him. His new family will need to continue to work with him and give him a consistent, structured environment so he can be successful in mastering politeness. He will do best with someone non-plussed by his physical strength and with some experience with dog handling the patience to guide him. He is very willing and able, highly intelligent, picks things up quickly and will be a joy for his new person to work with.

This boy is extremely physical, graceful and athletic. He is strong and lithe and would make a great sport or athletic partner. He has just enough drive to be highly trainable, but not so much that he MUST be a working dog.

Angus came to us from the streets of Ojai, where he was picked up as a stray. The Ojai Humane Society noticed his enthusiasm for toys and overall energetic and alert personality and so contacted us, as we look for these traits in potential search dog candidates. However, it turned out that while Angus likes toys, he doesn't LOVE them and that drive is a necessity for becoming a search dog. So, while he wasn't meant to be a search dog, Angus has the potential to be a wonderful adventure pal, performance partner, or active family pet.

He has a winning personality and the looks of a movie star—it's time for his close-up with you!
