My story

To inquire about/apply for Leo, please complete an application on our website gprescue.com. My name is Leo. Don't you just love my beautiful golden mane and my amber eyes?? I came into rescue after a Kansas Humane Society adopted me out twice but I was returned both times. My adopters didn't pay enough attention to me so I kept escaping my yard and went looking for friends. I really love people and attention! I'm a pretty chill guy and like being petted, but I'm not in your face about it. If you scratch my neck I will close my eyes and lean on you. I am very gentle with my Pyr Paw. Sometimes I even put up two paws and I almost fall over backwards in the process! I LOVE being outside observing my surroundings and would be happiest with a large yard or property to watch over. I'm house trained, like to go for walks, and like to play in the water. I like treats and will sit for them. My foster dad says I'm dog friendly but I would also be ok as an only dog. I was introduced to cats at the vets office and I paid them no mind. I do require a 6 ft fence and an owner who spends time with me so I don't go on walkabouts. My home needs to be child free as I am very sensitive to stress and anxiety. I will come to you microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. I really need my next home to be my Furever home. Applicants must have a secure and visible fence. In order for your application to be approved, you must also pass a home check and a vet check which includes having at least a two year vet history. I can be adopted in Missouri and surrounding states: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. My rescue is able to transport me to those states. If you would like to give me a furever home, please fill out an application on my rescue's website gprescue.com. Being fostered in Oak Grove, MO

More about this rescue

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Missouri is dedicated to rescuing Great Pyrenees who are without a home, need medical attention, or just need a safe haven as they transition to their forever home. We are a volunteer, nonprofit rescue, relying solely on your generous donations. We are currently working to establish our rescue facility in St. Clair, Missouri. Until our facility is constructed, we will be foster based only, with fosters in Missouri and surrounding states. We will continue to have fosters after our facility is built. Our facility will allow us to rescue more Pyrenees in need.
