Si is a sweet and loving cat who recently arrived at Joy's Rescue. The Vet dropped him by the rescue with serious gashes to his neck and chin. Si has healed up very from these injuries.
Within the last week, Si began drinking a lot of water and we found he is a diabetic and needs a shot twice a day. The medication will cost about 30 dollars and month because the dose is low. We are hoping that once is a loving home .... without the stress and living in a cage ...... he might only need one shot a day. Who knows..... we can only hope.
He is very loving and we really need someone who can help him..... be there for his medication. The rescue lost some volunteers when the stay at home Covid directive was ordered. We don’t have the volunteers to keep up a long term medication regime.
SO.......We are pleading with anyone interested in Si ..... the adoption fee will be waved.
He is a handsome guy with dark markings against a creamy base coat. And did I mention he is sweet.
Si is FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) positive as well. FIV is a widely misunderstood condition. Many people think that it’s easily spread, makes cats very sick, and that they have a lower life expectancy, so they are not often adopted. This is a misleading rumor. Please contact your vet for the truth or cont Jerri at Joy’s Rescue 316-208-1872 and provide you with current information.

We have an adoption contract that is filled out by all prospective adopters. We then do a vet check to make sure all animals currently and in the past were kept up on their shots. We then charge an $85 adoption fee for cats. The fees include the spay or neuter. If the pet has not been spayed or neutered prior to going home there is a $50 hold that is returned upon confirmation of the spay or neuter. And a contract is signed with the rescue.

More about this rescue
Our group was started to help animals find there forever homes. Most of our animals are in foster homes where they get more attention than in a shelter. Our rescue was started by a group of volunteers that wanted to make a difference in the unwanted pet population.
