Additional adoption info

The adoption application is located on our website. Home visits will be made and vet references must be provided. There is an adoption fee on all animals that helps to offset the cost of veterinary care and spay/neuter of the animal. The basic adoption fee is $135 for cats and $215 for dogs. This fee may vary depending on the pet. Please contact adoptions@colonialcapitalhs.org for more information.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter is located at 1860 Old Airport Road in New Bern, NC. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, appointments are required to visit our available pets.

We have adopt-a-thons at PetSmart (Wal-Mart shopping center) in New Bern on most weekends.
