My story

Tate is an amazingTate is an amazing 2-3 year old Aussie mix. He was born blind and hearing impaired, but that does not slow him down one bit. He navigates around very well and learns new places very quickly. This active guy weighs about 35-40lbs. He loves playing in the backyard and snuggling with his humans. Every time you look at him it’s hard not to smile because he is just such a happy fella. He is sure to bring lots of happiness and love to his forever home. He loves people and is the definition of a “velcro dog.” Tate is housetrained when kept on a schedule. He rides well in the car and walks well on a leash. Exploring the yard and going on walks are two of Tate’s favorite things to do. Tate needs time to adjust to other dogs in the house and will need a patient adopter that is going to allow him time to settle into his new routine and environment. Even though Tate has visual and hearing impairments he would also do just fine as an only dog. Tate would not do well in a home with small children. A fenced yard is a requirement for him in his new home.
Tate is up to date on vaccines and preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. He is currently being fostered in Huntsville, AL. If you are interested in making Tate a forever part of your family please fill out a non-binding application for him at www.forrescue.net/dog-application. 18 month-2 year old Aussie mix. Tate would love someone that is home most of the time as he does suffer from separation anxiety. He needs a calm home with a patient adopter that is going to allow him time to settle into his new routine. A fenced yard is a requirement for him in his new home.

Why adoption is a great option

Tate, a Huntsville Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
