Lucy is no stranger to the Abandoned Pet Rescue! This short hair tabby cat was returned to the shelter in January 2021 at four years old. She was adopted as a kitten where she was given the opportunity to grow up in a loving home. However, her owner was unable to continue their companionship after losing everything to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Since her heartfelt return, Lucy has been seeking the comfort of a new home with an equally loving owner. Lucy is currently concerned and confused as to why she is at the shelter once again. However, she is no less sweet, and still loves being petted! Lucy would do best in a home with one other calm friendly cat, no dogs. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.
APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
