My story

Meet Nutmeg, approximately 8 weeks old. He’s a playful friendly boy, part of a litter of 3 cuties. They all love to cuddle in laps, but are also happy to play with one another independently. They would do better in a home with at least one other young cat or adopted in a pair as they love being together. Medical in progress, available to go home starting 1/23. Accepting all applications now.

Dulce de leche, is a beautiful, sweet 7-8 month old momma to our most recent litter of 3. She is friendly, follows her foster family around the house. She enjoys human interaction, sits next to her foster on the couch. Not afraid of loud noises like the vacuum. We are not sure how she is around dogs. Mom and Nutmeg are inseparable, therefore we are adopting them out together as a pair. He follows her around all day, still nurses at times. They lay by each other together, and nap away.

His adoption fee is tax-deductible as he is part of a non-profit animal rescue. His vetting is still in progress but it will include spay/neuter surgery, vaccines including rabies, deworming, combo testing for disease and also microchipping. Nutmeg is also litter-box trained and flea free. If interested in fostering and/or adopting Nutmeg please send an email to spmrapplications@gmail.com or fill out our adoption application.

Why adoption is a great option

Nutmeg bonded w.Dulcede Leche, a Pasadena Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Pasadena, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Pasadena.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pasadena already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pasadena breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pasadena paves the way for another one to be saved.
