Hollis came to us as a very thin, under socialized, piebald pup with demodex and worms from living in a Central Valley field. She was in such bad shape that the vet was unable to spay her until recently.
Fast forward to present - Normal weight, great muscle tone, no worms and the demodex is almost completely healed. Our under socialized, frightened girl has found her voice. She LOVES to wrestle with her much larger foster brother. She LOVES games of chase and will bark at you until you give in and chase her.
Hollis is still frightened of new people but she’s come a long way. She loves being pet at night before bed and wakes her foster mom up at exactly 7am for pets and kisses. The rest of the day and night she participates in pack activities but prefers not to be touched unless it’s her idea.
We’re waiting for her final clean bill of health within the next couple of weeks to make her available. Her adoptive home should be quiet, patient and have at least one other dog to show her the ropes. A home with under socialized dog experience is very helpful. Hollis intently watches her foster brothers and sister’s behavior and mimics what they do. She needs a positive role model to help her become the great companion we know that she is.
