My story

Mandy arrived at the refuge in September 2011; in the beginning, Mandy was very scared and shy at first, but she has since become more at ease and is gradually learning to trust again. Mandy would greatly benefit from a patient human friend committed to helping her continue to come out of her shell. We know that with the right amount of love and understanding, Mandy will make a gentle, easy-going companion for many years to come. Approx. DOB: 05/01/2011

If interested in adopting from the Goathouse Refuge, please plan to take the following steps required in our adoption process:
1. Come for a Visit: No appointment necessary - just drop by during our weekend visiting hours from noon - 3 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
2. Complete our online application: Visit our website (click the link above or go to www.goathouserefuge.org under the 'adopt' tab).
3. Home Visit: All adoption applications will be reviewed by the refuge staff, and if the applicant seems to be a good fit for the cat(s) of interest, the refuge will contact the interested party to set up a home visit. Only after a representative of the refuge conducts a home visit then consider continuing with the adoption process.

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
