NOTE: Because of our adoption procedures, we can only adopt within a 1 hour driving radius of St. Louis, MO. Brandy Sue is a petite Persian cat (est. age 7 years) who is selective about whom she likes and will allow in her inner circle. She is a quiet cat who is happy to lounge on a cat tree and watch what is going on around her, or simply check out by taking a nap. The volunteers consider her to be somewhat of a diva; she does not hesitate to let you know what she enjoys and what she doesn’t. Miss Brandy Sue is high maintenance, even for a Persian. She needs constant attention for grooming to keep the area around her eyes clean (we use Eye Envy pads) and brushing to prevent mats. We have had to take her to a vet to sedate her to shave her belly and under her legs, as she really doesn't like to be brushed there and it gets matted. Brandy Sue is considered a special needs cat: she should be the only pet in a quiet home with adults only, and experience with Persians is preferred. From a medical perspective, because of her flat face, she is more prone to upper respiratory infections. Brandy Sue also has a heart murmur, but the vet thinks it was due to stress from being in the car and at the vet office. Her heart and lungs have been x-rayed and everything looks healthy. She also needs a special type of litter because she is front declawed (we use Dr. Elsey’s sensitive paw litter).
