My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Michelle (fournier0368@hotmail.com) for more information about this pet.

Hello my name is Skeeter, a nice lady found me outside and took me to the Humane Society to be spayed and ear clipped as she planned to put me back outside. While I was recovering from surgery the nice lady decided I was too sweet to have to live outside and she reached out to the rescue to find a foster. Foster mom came and picked me up, I come for attention and to be pet but prefer not to be picked up, I am shy with strangers and will need time to get to know you. I like to play but usually when others are not around, I am chatty when looking for attention. I am ok with other kitties unless they want to chase me, I don't like that. I  like bird and squirrel watching from the secure screened porch and really want to have a safe screened area at my new home.. I would be ok with another gentle kitty, I do not care for kittens or to be surprise pounced on. I am independent and would be ok as an only kitty in a stable, safe home.

Some of our cats ready for adoption can be seen at the following Adoption Center locations:

PetSmart, located at 12835 Citrus Park Dr across from the Citrus Park Mall. Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 11:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 2:30pm only.

Petco, located at 13127 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.

More about this rescue

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.
