DANCES AND WIGGLES TO CAPTURE YOUR EYES

UPDATE 2/23/21 (by Sigrid):

Little Poe came to us on 2/10/21 as an unclaimed stray from Animal Control.  He appears to be a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier (mix) that is about 3 years old and he weighs only 11.3 pounds.  Poe was vetted and neutered on 2/10/21.  On his 4DX test he tested positive for Ehrlichia and is being treated for it now.

Poe is a golden and white bundle of perkiness.  He looks like he might have chihuahua or rat terrier blood running through his veins.  Whatever his mix is, he is dainty like a fawn with comical but cute extra-large ears.

His greatest desire is to be the center of attention every minute.  He will dance and wiggle to capture your eyes.  If you ignore him, it is possible he might sing his displeasure.  He was left to wander the wild all alone and then never claimed, so it is no wonder this little guy wants love he can keep.

Poe accepts being crated, but if activity is going on around him, he lets you know he does not like being left out.  We learned that he does not like it when dogs come near his crate if he is in it.  Also, some dogs make him feel defensive and he will give a small growl.  Being a mere 11½ pounds, it is not surprising he may feel insecure sometimes.

At approximately 3 years old, Poe is the perfect age to learn proper boundaries and how to behave as a good house companion.

Poe will likely do best with adults who can handle the wanna-be-the-prince attitude of this charmer and who can give him the love he craves without allowing him to become a brat.  Poe needs the guiding help of a wise and gentle teacher.

NOTE: All animals are spayed/neutered as soon as practical after arriving at our facility unless there is a medical issue that may cause a delay or they are too young to be spayed/neutered.
