My story

MIA IS IN NY! Her Parents write:

With great sadness, we are searching for a new home for our sweet pup Mia. She's a 4.5-year-old 50lb mix breed bully (Lab, American bulldog, Staffordshire terrier) who we adopted from a surrendered litter when she was just 12 weeks old. She's been with us through two cities, several moves, and most recently the birth of our son last year. Unfortunately, our circumstances are changing as our family has grown and we're looking for a new family to love our girl.

ABOUT MIA:
She has big energy but loves nothing more than to snuggle (seriously, she is happiest when she's with us on the couch touching all of her people at once).
Housebroken since she was a puppy. Knows basic obedience and leash manners.
She was previously crate trained but we've not used one in a few years.
One single destruction incident in 4+ years and that was her own bed the first time she was out of the crate while we were at work - she's literally never touched a shoe or piece of furniture, not even fluffy baby toys that are now all around the apartment.
She is cautious of guests and new people, but after a treat and a minute of patience, she's ready with lots of kisses.
Spayed, chipped, vaccines up to date, and an all-around squeaky clean bill of health
Weary of kids. She tolerates our son but isn't a huge fan and would prefer a house with adults.
Great other dogs - has been going to dog parks and doggy daycare since she was a puppy and loves a good run.
Solid road tripper - she's most happy if she can spend the trip in someone's lap but is a trooper regardless (and no car sickness).
Light shedder as you'd expect from her breed. We've had her on fish-based kibble and that keeps her coat shiny and the shedding to a minimum. The short hairs are easy to vacuum/brush up as needed.
Potential adopters will be directly connected with the present owners, to learn more about Mia.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Pooches & Purrs Cooperative is a group of rescues and individual rescuers that are working hard to find loving homes for the dogs, cats, kittens and puppies that find their way into our care through no fault of their own. Each individual or group has several wonderful dogs In Tennessee, Alabama or Kentucky looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $550covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area. Our rescues don't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not always possible to meet them prior to their adoption. At times, a dog may be in foster care in New England and their bio will clearly be marked as such so you will know. These southern dogs & cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day money back guarantee and the pet can be rehomed appropriately if things don't work out. Each group tries hard to get good matches in your homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date the cooperative has placed over a two thousand dogs and puppies, cats and kittens in loving New England homes! Each group has many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and they can pass along that information for your convenience. Thanks!
