My story

Meet handsome Beau! This poor boy was found being attacked by 5 other dogs in the middle of the night by our friend and foster, Elizabeth. He was screaming during the attack and had multiple puncture wounds. He was in very bad shape at that time and in addition to the puncture wounds, he was very underweight, had very bad ear infections, a skin infection, intestinal parasites and fleas. He also is heartworm positive. He had clearly been on the streets alone for a very long time. He looks to be a flat-coated retriever or labrador retriever mix and is approximately 6 years old and weighs approximately 60 pounds. His foster mom has taken exceptional care of him and that is evident by his current photos. He is SO handsome and happy. Just look at his smile!

He has recovered from his wounds and has been treated at the vet for his infections, parasites and fleas. He is on the slow-kill protocol for his heartworms and will need to continue on that protocol with his new family. He has been fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

Here is what Beau tells us about himself:

"I’m Beau! My foster mom calls me a gentle giant. I’m still learning to play and socialize with other doggos, but it’s only because I get scared that they will attack me like they did before. I just run away and my mom says that’s okay. I’m a passive and peaceful guy and I love to play! I love cuddling and laying my head in your lap while you give me the scratchies. I love treats! Treats are the best but I don’t like peanut butter! I am very food motivated with everything else except peanut butter. One of my favorite things is a Puppaccino from Starbucks! I like the small humans (kids) and small dogs are nice too. I do not like cats and I will chase them away. So what do you think? Do you wanna adopt me? I need some pawrents who will love me forever and ever, do you think that’s you?"

Beau's adoption fee is $350. We can set up private meet and greets with pre-approved adopters. You must fill out our adoption application and become an approved adopter prior to asking us to set up a meet and greet. Beau is currently in his foster home in Houston, TX and will remain there until adopted.
