My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our adorable little Snoopy Girl continues her search for a forever home willing to love her FOREVER!

It appears this little senior has lost her home and family twice now, not because of anything she has done but because people are not patient, loving, or willing to teach her how to do things right!

Initially Snoopy was dumped at CACC by a family who owned her for about 8 years, since she was a puppy. They requested euthanasia because she was nipping at people’s shoes when they visited the home. Apparently, easier to dump a dog off to be euthanized than to work with her to correct this very manageable behavior.

We pulled Snoopy from CACC after a potential adopter thought she’d be a perfect fit. Well, Snoopy would have been a perfect fit had this woman given her a chance rather than give up on her after just 10 days because she was not perfect.

Snoopy is an awesome girl and so deserves a loving, patient, quiet, all-adult home of her own. She’s a lively girl, in overall great health, loves people and loves snuggling. She will follow her person around the house, wanting so badly to be part of someone’s life.

In addition to being with people and snuggling, Snoopy loves walks, but she does need some improvement with her leash manners.

She is not keen about car rides; she barks at people in the other vehicles. But we believe with more experience, training, and confidence this behavior will improve.

An ideal home for Snoopy is one who can offer her unconditional love and support, and work with her patiently to resolve her key issues (resistance to strangers entering the home, meeting people or dogs she does not know via slow introduction, and improving her leash and car-riding behaviors.) We expect ALL of these quirks can be resolved by using positive reinforcement, with consistency and patience.

Snoopy would love to be an only dog so she can get all the attention she deserves, but is likely to do well with a larger canine companion too. (We are told Snoopy stares down small dogs and scares them.)

Snoopy is up-to-date on all vetting and vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is housebroken for the most part. She does not like being crated; she barks and cries. However when left uncrated, she just hangs out in the home waiting for her person to return.

If you are interested in providing this loving, cuddly pup a FOREVER home of her own, if you are patient and committed to helping her reach her full potential as a perfect family member, please contact
