Helllooo, I'm Hurricane!! I will swoop in and steal your heart with my handsome looks and charm! I'm an 80lb hunk of burning love who looks like a Dogo Argentino Mix. I also have excellent house manners and a collection of stuffed toys because I am a big softy that loves to suckle on blankets and plush animals. My favorite games are tug-of-war and fetch plus I can show-off all the commands I know. Being 6-year-old makes me the perfect balance of active and chill. I walk well on a leash, but am strong so I need an experienced dog parent or a home with a fenced yard. I need to be the only pet, but I adore kids and adults. Did you know I'm a cover model? I am on the cover of APR's 2022 calendar, which my adopter will get a copy of:) Come fall in love with me, Hurricane, by completing an application at www.abandonedpetrescue.orgTo meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

More about this shelter
Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.
APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
