Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bosco is a 6 lb senior (estimated to be 9-12 yrs old) chihuahua who was surrendered to the pound in Houston, TX because his owners said " he may have diabetes" and they "didn't want to deal with old dog issues." Once rescued he charmed our volunteers and has won the hearts of everyone who meets him!
Bosco actually does NOT have diabetes. What he does have is a low thyroid and he takes daily medication to control it. Once he got on the proper medicine he just blossomed - his fur started growing back in and he got a little spring in his step. He is also on prescription food to support his kidneys and his latest labs were great! Finally, he takes a daily dose of anti-inflammatory for arthritis and it has done wonders for his mobility!
Bosco loves a good nap under a blanket and will even cover himself up if you're not around to do it. He has never met a soft bed or sunbeam he doesn't like! He is extremely sweet and loves everyone. Bosco has no teeth so he does require his humans to cut up his wet food into small pieces - and he loves a bit of baby food on the side to lick up! He is mostly blind and mostly deaf but gets around very well. When he's not napping, Bosco adores being held or sitting in your lap. Working from home? Just plop a dog bed on your lap and Bosco will happily sit there all day and help you work! He also loves to explore the house and yard and taking short walks. He gets cold pretty easily but is fine with coats and sweaters to keep him warm - and a space heater is pure heaven for him!
Bosco has lived with dogs and cats and totally ignores both. He really just wants to be with his humans - if he can't find you he will do a quick little bark to let you know he's looking for you! If you are looking for a tiny companion who is your best friend, Bosco is your guy! Because of his size and age, he will do best in a quiet home without small children or large, rambunctious dogs.
