My story

Hi, I’m Echo! I am a big handsome boy with an exotic flair. People say I look like a bobcat at first glance! I love food but I stay trim because I love to run and jump around. I’m only two years old but still a kitten at heart. My foster mom thinks I could learn to play fetch because I once chased a ball down the hall, picked it up in my mouth, ran it back to her, and dropped it at her side on the couch. I enjoy interactive play with all kinds of toys.

I’m not shy around new people and don’t hide when visitors come. I enjoy being petted and kisses on my head. I’m very loving and enjoy being with people. I also like to look out the window and watch birds. I'm a very curious boy! Because of my playfulness and high energy, I may not be the best match for young children. I'd love to meet you to see if we are a good match! Please contact Carol at 913.469.9881 or cjdavis@everestkc.net for more information or to set a time to meet me.

More about this rescue

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area. Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit, MO) to manage a spay/neuter program and to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes. Background Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so nearly all of our adoptions or other community involvement takes place on-site at pet stores and through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs). HAHS maintains a News and Events Web page to highlight these efforts.
