This guy is amazing! He is stated to be 7 years old, and his looks certainly make you think so, but he may even be a little younger. He knows how to tell you he wants outside, walks well on a leash, takes treats like a gentleman, and gets along great with little dogs and indoor cats. Have seen no issues outside during leash walks.
He LOVES car rides! Loves 'em. When he loads up in the car (no problems through passenger door, but can't quite make the jump to rear part of an SUV) his head goes all puppy look and super excited. Roll the window down a little and he is happy dog heaven!
Matthew was surrendered at the shelter for reasons unknown. We believe his lack of fur was from too much time not being treated for fleas, but we will never know for sure. It does seem to be slowly growing back, however the hair follicles could be damaged and he may be a partly naked guy for the rest of his life. He's right around 50-55# and while he could use a little filling out, he's at a pretty decent weight for his size and his age.
He deserves a castle to call his own. He loves dog beds, or the couch. Sleeps with foster mom every night as his own choice. He does NOT like to be crated - and due to condition of his top and bottom front teeth, we believe he was over crated and chewed on the metal.
He is up to date on his DATTP vaccines, rabies, has been neutered, and tested negative for heartworm/lyme/erlichia/anaplasmosis. He is microchipped, dewormed with Panacur and Interceptor Plus and started his heartworm prevention. He was treated on 3/5/21 with Bravecto.

An application is required – we look for the right home for Matthew. We will only contact the family that is chosen for him. If the listing is no longer here, an adoption is pending or has been completed. We may suggest an alternate dog based on personality.
