My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Mirror, mirror on the wall...who’s the most beautiful PYR of all? We may be partial, but we think Ms. Molly is a stunning beauty who deserves a home of her own. Molly was raised on a farm with no fencing, left to her own devices. Molly is an adult Great Pyrenees, small but mighty at 70 lbs—a true Pocket PYR :) Molly loves to carry her blanket around, looking for the perfect place to take a nap. In the beginning she was slow to warm up to her foster mom, but once she knows you, she does not forget. Molly would prefer to be the only pet in your home as she is selective and can get a little nervous if other dogs are too rambunctious and in her face. Molly walks well on a leash and is crate trained. She just wants a secure fenced yard she can patrol, a shade tree to lay under and a warm bed to sleep in. Her perfect home would be in a more rural setting with one or two adults. If you are looking for a beauty to keep you company while doing yard work, farm chores, etc. Molly may be the pyrfect girl for you! NYS Registered Rescue # RR102

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.
