My story

Female 2-year-old Pointer (mixed) with Pit Bull

Hello! I’m Madeline, a sweet black-and-white Pointer/Pitbull mix! I was born around 1/13/2019, I have had a hard life, but for everything I’ve been through, I still am the sweetest girl!  Unfortunately, I just started loosing my sight and this is making things very scary for me, so I need someone that has experience with blind dogs. I get along great with other dogs and love to run and play with them; if you own a tough cat who will let me know it’s not nice to chase them, we will get along just fine. If you own a nervous or jumpy cat, I may not be the best for you. My foster parents have three cats- one I simply ignore and leave alone but the other two are so fun to chase around the house! I truly am a puppy at heart, I would love a family that will play with me and let me run around! Potty-training was no issue for me and I have it down completely, I will whine or go and scratch at the door to get your attention. I am a nervous girl at first- there are many things that will frighten me, but give me time and I will be just fine! Strangers are quite scary as well; I may growl at people I see outside the house, but if they come up and pet me I will wag my tail and love them right away! I just need the right people who will give me time to be comfortable with my surroundings! I’m an intelligent girl and my fosters have trained me with “sit”, “down”, “off”, “no”, “post (when I wrap my leash around a pole or tree and they need me to come back)” and we are working on “stay” and “leave it”.  I also adore cuddles and think I am a lapdog! I am the perfect buddy to sit and watch a movie with. I can be a bit mischievous and still need a bit of training (what can I say, all household objects just look like toys). I would love to make some memories and be your new forever friend!
