My story

Nala is a beautiful girl that was left at our vets office and has been there for over a year. She is such a sweet girl and didn't deserve to get dumped by her former people.
Nala is 9 years old but in excellent health. She has so many years of life and so much joy to give to a family of her very own.
Nala's only issue is that she absolutely must be an only pet!! We cannot stress this enough! She has a very high prey drive and does not do well with any animals. This means all animals. Cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, birds, well you get the idea.
This precious sweet girl has been living in the managers office at the vet practice and on holidays is there all by herself. Can you imagine not having a home of your own for the holidays? While all the other pups are opening their presents and enjoying their stockings, while they are getting goodies from the leftovers of the holiday feasts she is alone in the office.
Please don't get us wrong, she is adored by the entire staff. She spends her days getting spoiled and pampered. But the nights are long and lonely and the holidays are the same.
All we wish is for her to have her very own feast and her very own presents. Somewhere she will be safe and loved for the rest of her days.
Nala is what's considered a Pocket Pittie. She is around 32lbs but is probably in need of a little diet because everyone spoils her with cookies.
If you are interested in giving this magnificent angel her perfect home please email us for an adoption application at ourbestfriendsrescue@gmail.com
Nala is located in Sayville NY
She is fully vetted and will have her teeth cleaned before she leaves to go home.
She is spayed, housebroken and microchipped

Meet the Pet

If all goes well then the adoption fee is paid, the adoption contract is completed and signed and you take your new family member home.

Additional adoption info

An adoption application must be completed before any meet and greets or extensive information is given out. All of our animals are home fostered and we must be diligent about protecting our volunteers. Our adoption fees range from $50 to $1000 and are determined on a per case basis. Our puppies that are to young to be spayed or neutered will be adopted out and a contract will be signed committing the adopter to perform the procedure as soon as the puppy is deemed ready by a veterinarian. This will be done no later than 6 months of age. Our animals are rescues. We sometimes don't know everything about the animal as they are usually in our care for a short period of time. We disclose EVERYTHING are aware of at the time of adoption. We cannot be responsible for an issue that occurs weeks or months or years after the animal is adopted. Opening your heart and your home to a rescue animal is a commitment. It is not for as long as the dog is easy to care for, or, for until you get tired of it. It is for the life of that animal. We will be very selective as to who we allow to adopt our angels. We expect you to be open and honest during the adoption process.

More about this rescue

We are a group of animal lovers that came together so that we could save more of the voiceless animals that haven't gotten a good start. All of us work at least one full time job and the rest of our time goes for the little souls that need our help. We are as dedicated to each other as we are to the animals. Together we are making a difference. We have volunteers who help us on all levels but always need more help socializing and helping with taking dogs to vet appointments and picking them up. Going to the groomer and much more. There are some who handle networking, mass emailing, etc. Others who help on Facebook. We have fosters who take in our rescues for a period of time, so that a rescued dog learns to live in a household and so that we can get to know the fur baby a little better so they can be placed in their proper furever home ~ also the fosters assist us in getting the animals OUT of the shelters faster & more efficiently. There are also those wonderful people who do volunteer transport !!! That's so so important !! and everyone else, who just likes our page or shares our pictures ~ we are ALL in this together.
