Calling all tripod lovers! Our little girl Twinkie will not last long! She is an absolute doll and will make a family very very happy! Twinkie is a yorkie mix and weighs about 9lbs, is spayed, microchipped, and a very healthy girl. She is around 3 years old and was found as a stray with an unrepairable front leg. Our vets think she was likely stepped on and had been a stray for a while with her leg broken in multiple places. We amputated and she didn't miss a beat, running and jumping around the very next day.



Twinkie is your typical terrier- full of energy and mischief! She gets along with all dogs and would love having another dog or children to play with. She would likely love cats as well. Twinkie needs a family with a lot of energy willing to walk and run and play with her often. She is quite vocal and will bark for attention; she will also alert us to any strangers walking by the house. For this reason we will not adopt her to an apartment, condo, or neighborhood where barking dogs are a concern.



She is also a young dog, and will chew up toys and anything she can get her mouth on, just another reason to place her in an active household that can help her expend her energy in positive ways. She does appear to be fully housetrained, but as a rescue we always caution that new environments take getting used to and any dog needs time and patience to acclimate to a new schedule.



We anticipate a lot of interest in Twinkie and will be pausing her listing intermittently so not to get overwhelmed with applications. Meet and greets are by appointment only with pre-approved applicants. Please fill out an application and we will be in touch.
