My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Traditional and classic is just what you will get with all around good boy Rex. Rex is a 3 year old handsome fella with an athletic build with a big adorable head to match. Rex had a difficult and sad past but Rex is now thriving and working hard. He has had professional training, and this buddy loves to train and learn new things! Rex enjoys toys, especially a Kong filled with peanut butter or any type of puzzle game.  Rex would make a great walking companion and is very well leashed trained.  Rex listens to commands well and knows when it's time to go into his crate. For short periods of time Rex has done well left out of his crate without any attempts to chew or eat anything he isn't supposed to. Rex lives with several other dogs in his foster home, and has done well with male and female dogs that are a bit smaller in stature than him.  Rex would be an excellent partner for an active individual or family who loves to spend time continuing to adventure and train!  Don't wait to put in your application for this sweet, goofy, forgiving and full of life boy! Apply today at www.underhoundrailroad.org

Rex is currently being fostered in South Carolina and may transport to his adoptive home as far North as Maine.

More about this rescue

Underhound Railroad was formed in 2009 by a group of friends, with the goal of rescuing innocent dogs from death row in Connecticut shelters. Underhound Railroad has now grown to include rescue communities in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah.

With our focus on rural areas where shelters are overflowing with abandoned dogs waiting to find rescue, our network of Underhound volunteers work hard to prevent undeserved deaths, see that medical, emotional and behavioral needs are tended to, and transportation as well as a loving foster family are provided to the pups on their journey to finding their forever homes!
