My story

Traditional and classic is just what you will get with all around good boy Rex. Rex is a young one year old American Bulldog and Pitbull mix. He has a athletic build with a big adorable head to match. At first Rex has quite a bit of high energy but does settle down after all the excitement is over. He enjoys chewing on his toys especially a Kong filled with peanut butter. That's his absolutely favorite snack. Rex would make a great walking companion with more leash training. He is strong and does tend to pull at first, but once in stride its time for a nice walk around the neighborhood. Rex listens to commands well and knows when its time to go into his crate. For short periods of time Rex has done well left out of his crate without any attempts to chew or eat anything he isn't supposed to. Rex is a little independent until its time for bed, then he wants to snuggle up close to his human. He has made dog friends before and lives with several in his foster home. Rex could do well with a canine sibling, male or female, that is smaller than him. Don't wait to put in your application for Rex, send it in today at www.underhoundrailroad.org

Rex is currently being fostered in North Carolina. If adopted up North he can transport to his furever home beginning in mid to late April.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, only. We do not have a physical facility. Once your application has been approved, we will work with you to set up a meet and greet with your potential pet.

More about this rescue

Underhound Railroad was formed in 2009 by a group of friends, with the goal of rescuing innocent dogs from death row in Connecticut shelters. Underhound Railroad has now grown to include rescue communities in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah.

With our focus on rural areas where shelters are overflowing with abandoned dogs waiting to find rescue, our network of Underhound volunteers work hard to prevent undeserved deaths, see that medical, emotional and behavioral needs are tended to, and transportation as well as a loving foster family are provided to the pups on their journey to finding their forever homes!
