My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lola, the daughter of Mimi. She is 15 months old, weighs 4 pounds and is being fostered in Midlothian, TX. Due to COVID concerns, only Texas applicants will be considered.

UPDATE BIO: 03/11/21. This cutie has really settled in! Lola is a sassy, 15 month old weighing in at a whopping 4.5 lbs. She was surrendered with her mama (Mimi) to us a few weeks ago, and has started to show us such a cute personality. We will be adopting these 2 separately as we feel that Mimi is ready to have her freedom.

Lola is taking to house training well and using potty pads inside. She sleeps overnight in the crate (her choice) and doesnt make a peep! She loves people- she gives kisses and will roll over on her back for belly scratches. Lola also loves to follow my toddler around the house and has recently taken to playing with some of the other dogs in the home. She LOVES toys. She will go to the toy box and pull out one after the another when the fur siblings aren't ready to play. Lola was born with a birth defect where her patellas are off to the side and one is almost to the back of the knee. We have seen vets and have discussed having this surgery to realign, however, she has such little muscle, as this has been her life for a long time, and we may do more harm than good.

As far as Lola is concerned, this is life normally for her and it certainly does not keep her down. She zooms all around the house and generally does not appear to have any limitations in her own mind! Shes adapted to it quite well and we love her just as she is! She will be spayed at the end of March, but we are now taking applications to start the process of finding her a forever home! If you feel you have the perfect home to offer this baby girl, please apply at www.uyr.us, and feel free to reach out by email if you have any questions. She will truly be able to give someone so much love for a lifetime!

Initial Bio 3-1-21: Daughter Lola is about 15 months and around 4 pounds. She has a severe case of patella luxation which has resulted in lameness of her back legs. You can tell that she drags her legs at times to get around and cannot quite get up or on furniture. Shes quite feisty and demanding though-she has definitely adapted to her condition and doesnt let it keep her down. Shes very defensive of her mama Mimi- she will charge up to the other dogs in the home and bark at them if they come sniffing her mama. Shes a spitfire for sure. She, too, loves her foster parents and the 1.5 year old in the house. She gives so many kisses and is desperate for human attention. She does really well in a crate, but is still currently working on house training. Shed likely do well in a home by herself or with one other submissive dog that tolerates her well.
