We are looking for a special family for Toasta, one that will love him and accept him for who he is, honouring his past, heritage and celebrating his amazing personality, how far he has come and potential for more progress.

Toasta is such good boy; he loves his foster dad, is very intelligent, learns quickly and loves to learn. He is friendly with cats, has a funny, almost clownish side to himself, and when excited he jumps like a rabbit and sneezes.

He is extremely affectionate, loves to be rubbed on his chest and brushed
His favourite time is spent with his foster dad and if he feels he’s not getting enough affection he pokes him with his nose.
Loves his crate when tired although does not like the door closed.
Toasta loves his food, although will only eat all of his kibble when something is added. His favourites include chicken, beef, fish, potatoes, cheese, carrots, cucumbers, apple.
During nice weather he really enjoys spending time outside in the backyard, especially with his bone to chew on but does not like to be rained on. Loves to play fetch, but will give up after a few throws and try to take the toy away.
He reacts to loud noises by barking. Settles down quite fast. Obeys ‘sit’ and ‘down’ and like every lover of his humans, he knows how to ‘give kisses’ on command.

Toasta is one of many dogs that was rescued off the streets of Egypt and eventually was lucky enough to be flown into Canada with hopes of finding his forever family.

Due to his lack of socialization during the first 2 years of his life, Toasta is a shy boy especially at the beginning. As a matter a fact, he will never be your average ‘happy-go-lucky’ dog therefore we are looking for a quiet, patient, accepting and experienced family. Someone that will understand him and patiently and consistently work with him to help him overcome his fear of people and new places. That will only be accomplished to a certain degree.
