My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marilyn Monroe
***PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO BEFORE APPLYING***
Meet Miss Marilyn Monroe! Aptly named after a true diva, Marilyn is as dramatic as they come. She likes to cuddle and love on her people, but only on her terms. She LOVES to play, but she can be sensitive if it’s “too much”. And she plays well with dogs of all sizes, but she insists on being in charge.

Marilyn is a smart cookie and incredibly food motivated. No matter if she's napping or playing, she's always ready to work for a treat. She would love nothing more than to find an adopter who wants to teach her a bunch of tricks.

We believe Marilyn came from an abusive situation, because she was fearful of being touched in certain places. She has nipped in the past, but after a lot of rehabbing, she is much more trusting. She will need an adopter who is patient and experienced, and understands that rehabbing an abused dog is an ongoing process.

If you're interested in adopting this pet please fill out our matchmaking questionnaire (www.rescuefromthehart.org). We are volunteer based and will do our best to get back to you within 72 hours. Please do not call as our phone is intended for emergencies only. If we feel that one of our dogs is a good match we will set up a private meet and greet We do not have a physical location where you can come and meet all the dogs at once, so meet and greets may take a little time to coordinate. Our requested adoption donation is $350 and all adopters are required to fill out an adoption agreement.

2. If all goes well with the meet and greet, we will schedule a Home Visit. We conduct a home visit to ensure that they will be living in a safe environment and to give you tips about how to best introduce the cat/dog to your home and make the transition as easy as possible.

The Rescue Promise

There is an old Chinese proverb that states: “If you save a life, you are responsible for that life”. Rescue From The Hart honors this philosophy with every animal that we rescue. When we say “yes” to a dog or cat in need, we are making a promise that we will provide them with anything they need to be happy and healthy, for the rest of their life. This means never cutting corners, never take the easy way out and never looking at one of our rescued as just another number. We make the same commitment to our adopters by going the extra mile to help educate them, support them during tragedies, and be there to offer solutions if their lives happen to get turned upside down.

When you support Rescue From The Hart, you help enable us to continue making the “Rescue Promise” to homeless and abandoned pets everywhere!
