My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for an extra special pup to add to your family? Well, look no further… here’s OLIVIA!

AWOOOO! I’m Olivia! I’m practicing my howl because my foster mom likes to joke that I’m part coyote. I may not actually be a coyote, but what I am is a REALLY CUTE dog. That’s one thing I’m sure of! I’m a 2-3 year old female. Not spayed or fully vaccinated yet, but I’m getting there, once I’m done nursing my babies! And I’m 38 pounds of perfection! I’m not leash trained yet; I’ve only been on a leash a few times so far, so it’s a work in progress. But I’d love it if we could work on it together! One thing you won’t have to worry about teaching me is how to use the bathroom outside. I’m already potty trained! I’m not crate trained though, because I always just sleep in a playpen with my six puppies. I’ll need my new forever family to be patient with me when we work on my crate and leash training.
Do you have other dogs? I’m dog friendly, so I’d fit in no matter what! Right now I’m living with three other adult dogs and I do really well with them. When I first came to my foster home I was very timid and stayed away from them, but as the weeks have gone on I’ve started trying to play with them! Now I jump for joy and run around in the backyard with my doggie friends. My foster momma says that it’s clear I haven’t had a lot of playful interactions with other dogs before now, but I’m excited to have more! There are no cats in my foster home so I’m not sure how I feel about them. As for kids, the only kid I’ve ever met is a 12 year old, so I’m not sure how I’d do around other ages. But I do well with the 12 year old, so I’d probably enjoy other kids too!
I used to be very shy and timid, and I focused 100% of my attention on taking care of my babies at all times. My foster family says I’m the best dog momma they’ve ever seen! Even as my puppies have gotten older I haven’t lost any interest in them, and I continue to want to spend my entire day with them. When I go outside to go potty I always hurry back afterwards so I’m not away from my babies for too long. The longer I’ve been in my foster home the healthier I’ve gotten, and now I jump around and wag my tail a lot more! I feel safe here. I get a little anxious when I have to be away from my puppies, but I don’t show any anxiety when being away from my foster family. One of my favorite things about my new life is being able to eat whenever I want and however much I want to! That’s an exciting new freedom for me. My foster momma says if she could describe me in three words, they would be “sweet,” “curious,” and “IMPROVING!” I’m proud of that last one… I’ve been working really hard!
I desperately need a home that will show me lots of attention. I’ve been showing interest in having other dog friends, so if you have other pups I’d really like that! Once I’m separated from my puppies I’m not sure if I’m going to enjoy having some alone time, or if I’ll benefit from someone that I can spend most of my time with. Because right now I don’t show any desire for independence from my babies. Loud noises scare me and it will probably take some time for me to be able to trust my new surroundings. Just be patient with me, and I promise I’ll be your new best friend!
