My story

Before you read further, Tommy has a bite history and will bite wihtout warning. Tommy will break your heart. Dropped at the pound by his owner we are guessing it may have been related to his going blind. He was depressed for the longest time, wondering WHY he was abandoned? Wasnt he a very good companion for those years? Is it because he cant see now? Through no fault of his own? He is a beautiful healthy boy who deserves a great owner going forward. And PLEASE do not overlook him because he has no sight....our blind dogs and we have many are our most active and incredible dogs. Tommy LOVES to dance and jump up and say hello when you come through the door. He is loyal and will bond, he feels so safe here now that we see a great future for this young man. And he is beautiful. No kids because he will snap when he is approached in the wrong way. Kind words go far. And he knows he is Tommy, a special boy.

More about this rescue

Meade Canine is an established 501c3 on both coasts placing younger dogs in New England and seniors in California. We take in dogs on euthanasia lists or who have no where to turn. New Hope members in both LA and NYC we rescue many last chance dogs from city dog pounds and animal control. We believe dogs dumped by humans deserve finally to know true love from humans so we ask our adopters to be committed to their pets for life with the caveat that we will always take a pet back after a week or ten years if an adopter no longer can keep the dog/cat adopted from MCR. We strongly believe the way to help unwanted pets is to spay and neuter at any age and we offer low cost spays and neuters to people who can't find or afford sterilization and raise funds to help be able to do this. Donations, inquiries, and visitors are welcome 365 days a year.
